Nature can be dirty and yet can be beautiful. Their fate depends on human beings. Climate change control is a way to protect the nature.

Politics are always dirty. Attacking each other is norm. Lying is a norm too. Most politicians though not blind, do not see things right. They are so stubborn as if they are deaf...

Hopefully our country can unite together and fix our weaknesses.

Thanks for sharing.

nature weeps in grief ...
politicians blind and deaf -
is there no relief?

Thank you so much. Great review.
Politicians in many countries choose to be both blind and deaf to what they don?t want to see and hear. Very sad.

Wow, wow, wow, this is sure powerful stuff!
The poem is brief but the author's notes come on like gangbusters and speak the truth for all to see! I loath big business as much as you and wish they would like to reason! I love how nature knows how to take care of herself and it is sad that she weeps tears of pain.
Thank you for posting this important issue and hope for the politicians to listen someday.
Jesse

Thank you so much Jesse for your thoughtful and considered review. I agree, and we have a lot to answer for, particularly those who have the power and authority to make changes which are significant for our environment- but don?t.

I agree, Mystery Author. Man has, and continues, to destroy so many things in nature whether they are politicians or not. Good job with your contest entry. Your syllable count is correct per line, the image is a great pairing, and your message is cleat. Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

We are depleting our prized forests and we will live to regret it and your few words is a plea for it to stop and for some thought to be put into our own actions, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I like poignant poems like this. Pollution is a really bad (and at this point, irreversible) tragedy that is happening to our planet. The world, the very earth is crying out for us humans to stop, but we won't. Not because we're bad or anything. It's because the ones who are causing the planet's demise and the ones who can actually fix it don't care. Truly a time to weep.

Thank you for your thoughtful and understanding review. Much appreciated. We need to turn our minds to alternative materials for building homes - and also be content with smaller more environmentally friendly homes. There?s a lot we could do with some wise political leadership. All countries.

This haiku is accurate in depiction of what we're doing to the earth. I'm originally from West Virginia and I haven't been back in quite a while but when I left home, they were strip-mining coal and clear-cutting timber. It was heartbreaking. I think all the natural disasters are the planets way of telling us that enough is enough. If we don't stop the planetary abuse, it will stop us. Very well done.

I like (and not like) the obvious reality to this one, well written. I like very much this is where you went for a political poem.
Right words, right time, well done.
I don't know if you've read Celestine Prophecy, but it's quite a good read.
Cheers

You've done a good job of getting your point across in this poem. For 45 years I lived in the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. Depending on the administration, there would either be large scale logging or much more restricted logging. While I share your concern for the environment, I've seen too many unrealistic restrictions put on businesses because of extreme environmental groups. Businesses shut down and people losing their livelihoods. We need lumber for housing and paper and musical instruments. During WWII certain spruce trees were logged for airplanes. I've also seen first hand the effects of clear cut logging. The government put some restrictions on it, but the private lands owned by the native corporations were under no such restrictions, in part because of a strong voting block that was in favor of clear cutting their lands. I believe that it actually changed the weather patterns along the local waterways. The good part is that trees can and should be replanted. They not only provide homes for the animals and fish, but oxygen. Thanks for your thought provoking poem.
Have a blessed day.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and understanding review. We must and should be able to provide employment in other areas, and think laterally about what we use for construction of our homes and other items. There must be ways we can use our learning and technology more wisely. Hope so!
