This must be the first time a mixture of positive and negative reinforcement worked to stop someonne from jumping.
It seems this was a ghost of the past who also seems to be acting as
a guardian angel.

Another fine and in this case, spooky tale, Gypsy--I've been to the Golden Gate once, and it's such a long way down. I gotta wonder if the jumper knows how cold the water is!

I don't think the jumper thinks much of the consequences. It's freezing water and the impact is hard on the fragile body. The worse thing would be to survive the jump to be a vegetable for the rest of his/her life.

This is one of the best Halloween stories I have read. Sometimes just telling someone who is contemplating suicide to go right ahead does deter them. I guess it makes them think about what they are doing - I guess as I have not had that urge.

Wow, I like this story a lot. I wasn't sure how it would end and I'm glad the ghost woman "talked" her out of jumping. I had no idea that the Golden Gate Bridge was so popular with suicides. Very strange. Good luck in the contest.

It is a beautiful bridge. I have always fancied seeing a ghost Gypsy, yet to this day nothing. More I believe because to see one would confirm that there is actually a life after death and hope of an afterlife.
I enjoyed your story friend, it held my attention with relative ease. The ending was a pleasant one,,, lucky girl : ))

What a beautiful story about a young woman who decided not to jump to her death on the top of the Golden Gate bridge. What happened to the lady in the blue billowy dress? She must have jumped since there is a picture. Or she was a ghost.
