The confinement of this past year has heightened my appreciation for the critters that frolic in our yard, the sounds of birds twitterimg early in the morning and scent of lilacs blooming outside my window. We refocused on all the positive things we took for granted. Your poem captures these sentiments.

Thank you June for a lovely review. Yes, there are times we do need to pause and refocus on what is beautiful, not just fill our lives with being busy. Many thanks.

Wendy,
This single line poem reminds us that silence is good sometimes. It lets us be intropsective and maybe closer to the divine. I like the metaphor.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

God presented us with beauty and nature and we take it for granted instead of thanking Him for it. We fail to take time to enjoy. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us and good luck.

With these few well-chosen words, you have conveyed an appealing, moving message about the lovely, thrilling sounds of nature that are so often drowned out by--US. Thoreau would say "Amen" to your poem; so do I!

Wendy,

Awwww, yeah! This one line is small and succinct but says as much as an encyclopedia entry. *smile*

This is wise and lovely and something to think on for a while. It's adorable! Thank you - I think you have a good shot!

Stunning one-line poetry. It is so true in conception and life. I love the quietude of nature, though if one listens carefully there is a cacophony of tiny, sweet sounds. I really like this!

Music has and will always be one of my salvation... when others don't understand or I can't find the will to share, I lose myself in the sound of music. It's like a mental massage and eases the pain.

Hugs, Carol

So calming and restorative. One of God's greatest gifts, along with nature. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much for reviewing, especially because I know how busy you are. I greatly appreciate it.

Yes perhaps that is one of the many'discoveries' we have made during the pandemic i.e the appreciation of 'nature's symphonies' and their soothing impact on our lives

Thank you so much. Lovely review. Yes, I believe so. Away from man-made sounds and busy-ness, we listen more and think more, and appreciate more.

Best wishes for the one line poem contest. Some say it's hare to write a poem in one line, I find it easy. Peace and quiet is what we need today. Walking amongst God's garden, the whisper of the wind in the trees. We were meant to be peaceful not listening to heavy duty trucks whizzing by. I live on a main arterial road, the only peace is when the front door is shut.
Did you know we lose our rankings at the end of the year? K xx

My daily walk in the park brings such a joy of sounds and we still have many birds who will brave the winter months and hope to survive, my dawn chorus has depleted of late, but they lie in these days, even the pigeons have stopped calling, the silence of the winter chill is on the horizon. Much enjoyed Wendy, love Dolly x
