I remember watching this film .. the scene in the hotel in the USA when he s trying to figure out what a bidet s function is.

.. that was very funny.

Here in Europe we all have bidets.. despite his courage , what I loved was his naivety of the world beyond Australia.

I believe there was also a sequel ??

Thanks for reviewing. There were certainly some funny moments in the film (and the sequel) but I found his ignorance a bit embarrassing, being an Aussie myself.

I have a hard time believing that film is almost forty years old. At the time I thought Dundee was a novel hero. But I agree with you about the film being "a crock." I enjoy your humorous tone here. Rod

Those years just keep rolling by! As an Aussie female I am familiar with some stereotypical male behaviour that country seems to encourage, such as displayed by Mick Dundee's character.
