I so agree with this poem. It is quite annoying and rude for people to insist on using that cell phone when they are supposed to be with you. It divides the attention and makes one wonder why he or she is with the rude person in the first place. Congratulations on your win.

I so agree with you. I went on a date recently and the guy arrived with his phone in his hand and it continues to ping during our conversations and he picked it up every now and then, he was distracted by the people around and hardly noticed I was there, hence the date was never repeated! Phones can be a curse but they are owned by selfish people sometimes, I enjoyed your rant, love Dolly x

I must agree with all you have said. The phones with their variety of uses are addictive - and relationships suffer. It's crazy, but people have lost their lives because of being on their phones. Best wishes for your entry.

So true...laughed out loud at the last two lines! Really liked this piece, very relatable. It amazes me that no matter where you go, everyone has their cell phones in hand using them, even on the road driving where it can definitely be dangerous. In case you haven't guessed, it drives me nuts too!

This certainly falls squarely into the category of the Drives Me Crazy writing prompt. I think many of us are exasperated by the behaviour of others vis a vis their phones. I'd just like to add that it's not only cell phones. My mother fiddles constantly with her land line one, and the incessant 'number unobtainable', 'number not in use' and high-pitched whines that ensue drive me to distraction.

Boy, did you ever hit the nail on the head with this post! I used to invite my daughter to dinner. We would be enjoying the meal, talking and laughing, and her damned phone would ring and any sense of manners would fly the coop like she'd never been taught any better. I hesitate to say how many billions of dollars have been stolen from employers by their employees using the phone when they should be working. Nice job.
