This is by far, the most beautiful poem I have read in many days, and I read a lot of poetry, much of it published. I enjoyed it so much, I read it again and then read it to my husband, so he could enjoy it too. It is simply breathtaking in its wording and its music, and so emotionally moving as well. It has everything a perfect poem should have. It brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad I found this today. Thank you. I hope it wins a blue ribbon.

How honest this is. Beautiful.
I never tire of reading whatever you write.
I often wonder the different ways in which we think, certain stages n our lives. It is most giving and most reassuring, but when you add poetic excellence, the picture is all abundant.
Bravo.
My best wishes.
Have a pleasant week.
RG

Nice colorful imaging creates this sublime scene, but the melancholy language takes it in a different direction. Overall, I liked how you combined the two, into a good romantic piece. There's this sense of imperfect beauty, an imperfect moment, the ephemeral nature of such moments, that lie at the heart of romanticism. estory

    Hi EStory,

Oh, this is so interesting and true! Yes, romanticism has the ephemeral and realism juxtapositional to each other that makes for a bittersweetness that is most treasured by all mankind but especially the poet :))

Thanks for such an exemplary review and thoughts. Much appreciated.

    Have a wonderful week :))

Good one, Senyai. Is that what is happening to us? A great description of the changes that we go through as we age. My desire is not sinking. I just can't carry out those desires.

    Hi Paul,

Yes, but we become content with the most "relaxed" attitudes in life lol?like sinking into a field of goldenrods because we have lost our footing but find it hilarious :))

Have a great week, Paul and thank you for a stellar review as always,

A fervent ambient write about youthful blooms and spontaneous joyous early life slowly mellowing into acceptance of cuddles and muddling through as desire wanes and in the overgrowth foliage of life, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I'm not a big fan of rhyming poetry, but this had such an amazing flow that I didn't fill the usual stilting rhythm. Wonderful imagery, great word choices. This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing, and good luck!

This is a beautiful rhyming poem that flows easily and naturally as it takes us down the familiar road of aging. Oceans have become mere puddles, but we learn to enjoy the little cuddles while sipping warm goldenrod tea - with lots of honey.

Where the sky was our limit, now our desire is subtle cuddles
When our emotions were oceans, now are little muddle puddles...beautiful! This is all I feel about youth and the feelings and progressing through life. They say youth is wasted on the young and in many ways that is so right...at 19 when my life seemed so long, so guaranteed, an almost infinite stretch before me...now it's my 43rd next week and I feel so, so worn and tired. But there is still so much joy to be had in life and you show it here perfectly, amazing virtual six love Meia xx

    Hi Meia,

Oh my, I so appreciate your wise and perceptive words! But you are so young, just a mere babe at approaching 43 ?. but I remember those days as being some of the toughest actually and the tiredest. So cheer up as there is smooth sailing ahead?you just have to appreciate the little things as they say. But its so true.

Thanks for the virtual six as it means just as much!

Have a great week, Meia :))

A wonderful picture to accompany your poem which is full of vivid imagery and great end rhyming. I love some of your endings like 'subtle cuddles and little muddle puddles'. So expressive! Some lovely alliteration too. The depiction of our own inevitable demise in '...blooms further afield and sinking'. Great work. All the best in the competition Franky
