Beautiful pictures you have chosen of the Goldenrod. Like how you have used it as an illustration in your poem of how life passes so quickly and we find ourselves in the autumn of our lives.

Ah, I love this! Sweetness and looking back on lover's times. We may grow older, but we hang onto our memories and wrap ourselves in them from time to time. The picture is beautiful and fits your words so well.
Excellent presentation!

What a lovely poem about aging. I thing it is a good entry for the contest, and good luck. I like everything about the second verse. I do love the image of the little mud puddles! Great job.

Glorious! Delightful nostalgic romp, charmingly whimsical and freshly phrased. Rich in imagery vividly evocative of reminiscences of days of youth. Wonderful piece!

    Hi Liz,

Such a glowing review has me glowing! I always appreciate your insight and appreciate your unique and overly qualified thoughts on my work. LOL

Yes, aging is a wonderful thing really as youthful angst fizzles and slips of the tongue are more easily forgiven with ? "Well after all they are getting up in years."

Always fun to hear from you and praying for your daughter. Wishing her a short lived case of CoVid? none of the long haulers please.

Yep, the Delta variant is a nasty one, Liz. You be safe out there, too :))

I never knew about this marvellous flower that could be turned into a medicinal tea, but it seems to me that God gave us all we need to live happy, healthy lives, enough food to satisfy our children's need, and provide us a long and healthy lives, "I pray that you will prosper in all things even as your soul prospers"

Thank you for sharing this rhyming contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading the rhymes. I've read a few entries for this contest today and one of them I struggled finding the rhymes. Not in this poem. Thank you. Good luck.

Excellent entry for the Rhyming Poem contest. We all deal with aging in our own ways. The rhymes do not seem forced. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

What a lovely and lyrical poem. Great for the rhyming contest and the rhymes weren't intrusive or stifling (as you know, I'm not a big fan of end rhymes, but these were as good as that style can get). Bittersweet, nostalgic, content and joyous simultaneously. A nice mix of emotions going on in this poem. Great job. Hope all is well. P.S. have you started the beta read? No rush.

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for the review and thoughts. I know, end rhymes can sound so trite. I had it stored away so thought I?d get rid of it in the nicest way possible ? a contest :))

No, I am about to finish Jay?s book three of his trilogy, The Trinings. It is so so good, Tim. Did you beta read all three books? I have been super busy with work as orders start coming in fast and furious around the holidays so my time to read is cut a bit short of late but hopefully a new hire will relieve the madness in a few weeks.

I will start on yours real soon and am super excited to begin on Rust Quill?s story, Tim. My attention won?t be divided this bad as things get sorted out.

    Thanks for the thoughts!

Oh, I am keeping Karenina in my prayers. Her surgery is today. I?ve got my fingers crossed all goes well for her. If you hear any news, please let me know and I?ll do the same.

    Always,

This poem, Where Is My Desire?, follows us all through the glory days to these hoary days of age. We can still swim with the sharks, but they are really grandchildren little pitchforks. Skydiving will now be from the front seat of a pickup truck.
