Waiting

This poem is quite clever, and I really like how you withhold the poem's explanation "waiting" in its last stanza. I have always enjoyed ambiguity in poetry. Any poem that makes a reader go back and reread after receiving full understanding of the author's intent and/or message is a poem well done (imho). Really enjoyed this one!

Thanks, again. Sometimes I have to reread what I've written a few tines.

A well deserved win Paul. A beautiful picture and equally beautiful poem of love and commitment. Some nice alliteration and good end rhyming. Thank you for sharing. Franky

Thanks, Franky. I wonder if they are going to get the condo.

Hey, you did so well with the task! I like the way you present one party that is so persistent and the other, assumingly undecided. This poem is light and easy to read, it rhymes, and you present it beautifully. I see you're married for 56 years - wow, what's the secret? I bet one of these is humour! Thank you for creating!

Thank you, Ritasher. The secret to my marriage is to not fight. If the wife gets excited about something, I listen and don't fire back.

I like your poem. It has a rhythm to it, that's catchy! There is love and respect for one another in your poem. Wow! A condo, that would be a great place to live...is it a time share?

Thanks, Rosemary. No, it's full time. Now, he's got to ask the really important question.

OMG! I love the twist at the end. You really had me going. The mix of romance and unexpected humor works so very well. I've found nothing to tweak or adjust. Well Written, Well Done.

Thanks for the review. Twist and shout.

Great writing. I was, of course, thinking of someone popping the question, but then the ending twist, of to buy or not to buy the Condo. You did well under the terms of the prompt. Enjoyed it, cheers.

Great entry for this love poem, without using the words that were taboo.
Lots of big decisions come in our lives, the important thing is that both partners agree, and that's where love comes in

Thanks, Barb. Are people still getting married today?

I thought so. I know people who have.

Easily the best of the day, this piece is just adorable and deserves every star it earns for you. Such fun. Thanks for a great break in my day. Great meter, rhyme, and you hold the reader all the way through. So well done. Good luck!

A cute love poem that is lighthearted but gets the message across. It's hard to write a love poem without the usual buzz words, but you did so with fun and flair.
Best of luck in the contest,
Rhonda
