I love the juxtaposition of the words "mellow" and "spiced." It's a perfect way, in my opinion, to describe wassail's flavors. I have often referred to the drink as Christmas in a cup, so your final line perfectly sums up your haiku. You followed the criteria of 5, 7, 5. Additionally, you chose a picture that visually represents heat with the warm tones of orange, yellow, and red. Well done, and good luck!

P.S. You're a saint for sharing this recipe. I've never tried it with pineapple and apricot, and I very much look forward to tasting this version of one of my favorite holiday treats.

An excellent entry for the contest, good luck. In just a few words I have the feel of the season, the smell that goes with it, and even the taste of the season. Can I add some bourbon? I am thinking it could help with the taste and the feel. Good job.

Sounds yummy but I have never had it. I like warm drinks in winter though. This is a nice 5-7-5 with great artwork. I can taste the cinnamon from here. Boy, it seems like a lot of work though. In my younger years, I would have had no trouble...but nowadays an instant cup of hot chocolate is a chore.
