Many healing thoughts in your poem. I think we want the same kind of peace. If we can get back to normal and get rid of the virus, that in itself would bring comfort to the world.

I like your final goal the best. My goal is to be a better me. Your poem flows smooth and has universal appeal. The picture adds to your words. Together they create a great presentation. Good luck in the contest.

For some people it is sad when they take down their decorations and for others they are glad. I heard a woman talking about how she was glad it was all over as she was tired of Christmas. Fine rhymes and sentiments here, love Dolly x

I have mixed feelings about it. A little sad but at the same time happy about getting back to normal. :)

Nice poem for the rhyming prompt. A children's book seems like a great idea and would probably keep you incentivized all of 2022. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like your tone of realistic hopeful sincerity depicted in your lines here. It is a gentle poem, very human in its aspirations and concerns.
I don't agree with your last line though - being the same world as it was before will just keep the same old problems. We need to learn from the past and create a better future.

Thank you for this excellent review and you are right! I meant the world we had before covid, but you inspired me and I changed the line. Thanks again. :)

I'm pleased my words made you revisit that last line. Now it fits much better with the sense of healing.

I think you've done a good job of this, I like the way you have your own personal goals, and then those of the rest of the world, too. I'm sure we'd all like to go back to how things were a couple of years ago - at least in some ways.

Oh goodness, Mystery Writer!
I am already out of six stars, but your offering is definitely worthy.
Fine sentiments that resonate deeply with me.
I do hope that whoever you are, you do write a children's book = one of my goals as well!

One teeny nit:
The joy and laughter that the season brings,
dies (die) down and now reality holds sway. (Because of the compound subject of "joy and laughter.")

Thank you for sharing!
