I only wish I had a plethora of sixes...for each time I come to read you I am tempted to leave that rating! I see so much in this haiku... the woeful weeping of an iceberg who is witness to its own demise--pieces of itself slipping away from their white-knuckled hold and swallowed by an unforgiving sea. The negligence of mankind -- to turn toward the sun and shrug our collective shoulders in the classic "It's not my fault" stance...
When shores are swallowed whole, who will we blame then? This is fine work. Ah, never mind! I'm giving it a six! (smile)

Wow, what a great response to my post. Surely your words/review could be turned into your own poem. I see so many good phrases sprinkled about.

The negligence of man is too often the case. Honestly, I feel the same way about persons not getting a Covid vaccination. The excuse "not me" does not register in my mind.

Your sixer is just a bonus for my ego. I do cherish your fanship. THANKS!

P.S. Today on public radio, I listened to part of the TED talk. Presenters talked about the overfishing in the oceans. One fish was down to 10% of its previous population in 10+ years. Aggressive action must be taken to revive our stock. When man cuts down the last tree, there will be none and the species may never be regenerated.

I watched a Nat/Geo documentary not too long ago on the overfishing of oceans. We commit the crimes and we call ourselves the victims.

The ultimate Homelessness will be when we wear out our resources here.

I think is the best haiku I have read in a long time. You followed the syllable count and it was completely about nature. Did you mean "carves" instead of "calves"? Good luck in the contest.
