Interesting style here. Point well taken! Do something, keep moving, have a plan, a goal, a reason to wake up every morning! Start!
A one word mantra perfect for the new year!

Thanks for the excellent review and I am glad you enjoyed this little wake up call. I really wanted to capture the sense of obligation we feel everyday in our lives, sorted out between all these aspects of life. estory

You wanted to capture it...and you did!

The author's words are engaging, descriptive, inspiring, uplifting and
creative. The last line is my favorite! Thank you for the author's notes
they are so interesting and vibrant. The poem flows and connects well.
I like the idea of creating music in language! Happy New Year!

Thanks for the excellent review and it is interesting that I liked the last line best myself. It kind of undercuts the rest of the poem, I think. estory

Good advice and I have started a few things that I didn't finish and they nag at me to complete but I never seem to have the time! A poignant write, love Dolly x

Yes the note says a lot about what you are trying to achieve--a minimalistic, repetitive almost mechanical feel to the poetry, very similar to the piano work of Glass. Thanks for sharing the first one of this approach.

Thanks for the excellent review and I liked that mention of Phil Glass. I take that as a great compliment. Loved his work on Koyanisquatsi. I am also a big fan of Steve Reich. I have his music for 18 musicians on CD and I saw him once at Town Hall in New York. estory

This is thought provoking because it reminds what we are constantly doing is starting. Dozens of times a day we are busy starting something. If it is a short time thing like starting to get out of bed, we accomplish what we start, but many time we don't. We start to pay our bills and get interrupted by a phone call. We start to write a poem and our mind goes blank. To heck with it. Another day the muse might be with us. It isn't always easy to finish what you start.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and I am glad you seemed to enjoy this piece so much. Yes it isn't easy to finish. It is easy to dream, but not easy to finish what you start. estory

"But don't start anything you can't finish." I guess if we will engrave this on our exaggerated to do list, we will save us a lot of time and pain:) Thank you for sharing and good luck with your new project.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and it is interesting that you liked the line I liked best myself. I think it undercuts the whole premise of our ambitions in life. It is trully our epitaph. estory

I like your poem. At the start of a new year, most of us have plans and ideas but until we make a start, they will never come to pass. Once we take the first step, it will be easier to continuel

Start, great title and you developed your title as you wrote each stanza. Our lives are pretty "robotic" as we start so many different things and sometimes don't finish them. I hope you finish your series of poems. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the excellent review and I think you got what I was trying to create here, and I am glad of that. The series was written and edited last year, I just have to post them. Next up is Anybody. estory

I am glad you're up and running for the new year. You're an inspiration. I have a few things up my sleeve too and a few decisions to make about my writing. I'm trying to decide if I should post twice a week instead of once. I first did once because I was working and couldn't post more often, now I am retired and not so sure, once a week is right. I will decided soon. Thank you for the sharing this poem with us. It caused this reader to sit back and ponder. That's always good. I look forward to your future posts.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your encouraging comments. I think you should try and and find a publisher for some of your work. It is quite polished and I'm not sure if it's ultimate end is Fanstory. I look forward to more of your work...estory

I am trying to find a publisher. I'm really not wanting to self-publish.
