This one was rather ingenious in it's creation. G. I loved the picture of a stop watch. Your words told of a moment in time. I was sure that Adrian was planning his own demise, when Beth jolted him out of his plan. What was wonderful was that Adrian had the time to talk Beth out of her plan. Very well done and greatly enjoyed.

Many thanks. It's something my wife and I have been focusing on recently, taking each moment and appreciating it, taking it for what it is, not what we hoped it would be or hat it could become.

This is really good and well-written. It certainly could give hope to the hopeless if they learn to live in the moment at you are speaking of time in this story. It might even make a good Sunday school lesson if you want to try to sell it to one of the religious publishers.

Hi G, one tiny thing maybe... Change grounding to grinding to a halt? But really wonderfully written piece. Very descriptive. I could hear the vehicle, see it careen. And even smell Adriens sweat. I like the positive ending.

I liked this story very much. I'm so glad Adrain stopped and talked to Beth. I think that too often people who are caught up in their pain forget that it passes, or at least lessons. As the story says, there are more moments.

Wow, Gareth, I'm impressed. This is a gut-squeezer, a really fine first chapter. Wait! How did I get it in my head that this was the first chapter, and entered in the "first chapter contest." It's good as a stand-alone short story as well. Write on!

" A low growling chuckle" is a hint as to her state of mind.
Vivid descriptions of Adrian's attempt to circumnavigate the tortuous road get the reader's adrenaline going too.
Also the painful but successful save.
Great to end this on a humorous note with Adrian saying that he'll drive.

Interesting tale of heroism and a touch of life wisdom from a stranger to person without hope. A moment. An angel, like Touched by an Angel. Adrian just happened to be at the right place at the right time, and Beth listened, because she really didn't want to die.

We've been trying to do this more ourselves, appreciating the now rather than worrying about what we might have hoped or wanted it be or what something may become. It certainly limits disappointment! lol
