Definitely supernatural. I enjoyed reading your writing prompt entry. I reminded me of a young boy in my church youth group. I was taken the older kids to see a play of the timeline of the works of Jesus. This lad was too young to really go, but wanted to and was really well behaved, so I agreed. He stood during most of the play because he was too short to see. When Jesus raised Lazarus, he yelled, "Jesus really did raise Lazarus." Everybody sitting around us just smiled. The awe in his voice was heard by all.

How wonderful. They see it as amazing, and the freshness of their response is so beautiful. It's a pity we lose that sense of awe as we grow older. Many thanks for a great review!

A great re-enactment of Lazarus raised from the dead, of course Lazarus had been dead for four days, and like Tom's sisters, Lazarus's sisters Mary and Martha, but of course not many would know that, great modernising of the second to last miracle. Beautifully written, well done blessings Roy

Thanks so much Roy. It was an amazing event, and I sometimes feel we have lost our sense of awe about it!. Great review.

Well done! This is an exceptionally well-written story about Tom and how he rose from his grave. You didn't place a time frame so I assumed that this was a modern-day occurrence. Only in your author's notes did you give reference to Jesus and how he rose from the dead. A message I am sure you are giving but this is a supernatural story if I ever did read one. The photo of the two sisters hugging each other and crying seemed to be in the present setting as well. And the title Sick to death made me think you were going to complain about something, that is a common expression, I am sick to death of...
So, you had me in suspense the whole way through this story. Brava, and kudos to you for making this believable until the last line.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Jesse

    Hi Jesse,
Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I appreciate your words, and also the six stars and Exceptional rating. It's an honour I value. Yes, I wanted it to read as a modern day version, and the reader to draw the conclusion as in the notes. Glad you enjoyed it.
    Enjoy your weekend too.

You've caught the emotion in this piece really well. Clever to show the supernatural aspect of raising someone from the dead. I felt a bit awkward about Tom's friend paralleling Jesus, as the friend was portrayed as being initially uncaring through his absence.
Wouldn't that be an absolutely amazing miracle to witness???? It would reinforce my faith no end. And wouldn't it be great if we were allowed to recommend who we would like to get Jesus to raise from the dead.

Yes, I should add in the Author's Notes the reason why He didn't come straight away. It was to show He had power even over death. Good point. I'll have to add that bit tomorrow. Thanks so much for that astute remark, and for your whole review.

I so wish that was possible if even for a minute. I know it would hurt twice as bad to have them go again, but the pain would be worth it. I just wonder why his friend didn't come earlier.

Hugs, Carol

Hi Carol, It's really the story of the raising of Lazarus from death, and the friend was Jesus. And He didn't go earlier because He wanted everyone to see that He even had power over death. So they could believe and trust in Him. Thanks so much for reviewing. I appreciate it. I have been wondering how you are going?

Thanks for asking, Wendy. Bad things are happening again and I struggle. I am not writing, but maybe I will try to polish my stories for self-publishing. This morning I felt I should read my favorite people ...Take care.
