Hahaha, I'm not sure how I missed this entry earlier. Yours is a clever subversion of the intent of the contest, and a breath of fresh air.
Make sure when you use a transparent image that the one you are getting is in fact transparent. I have made this mistake myself before several times -- it shows you a preview of the image with the black and white checkerboxes suggesting that the image you are looking at is transparent, but the REAL transparent image is often available only after clicking on that image and going to another link which gives you the actual one.
Even the image you have here might be fixable at https://www.remove.bg
which is the best of the free image removal utilities that I have tried, but you won't know unless you try. I did crop out the better part of your image in a screenshot (since the site would not let me "download" it, but that's just a cheap hack to stall users lacking in determination, haha). And then I uploaded it, and can confirm that even your checkboard image can be made transparent. The algorithms there are really clean and have surprised me -- I used to do all this sort of stuff manually, and it took a long time. This way offers a cleaner result too.

Personally I feel like this one was pushing the envelop at spirituality, in that it's barely there. Still it's in the both so there you go. Miracles do happen! lol
I wonder if he kept the subscription or cancelled that $50 a year to make ends meet....

Oh dear, not sure if it is a good Epiphany to have when struggling with finances to find an annual subscription to a gaming company. Will it be used to lessen the struggle or used to game away? Hmm.

You did a good job with your fun contest entry. I hope you intended it to be for fun. Your image pairs nicely with your words. Your little story reads well--good details for the readers.
I counted the words at 27, however the hyphenated forty-five MAY count as only one word--not sure. If so, then you have 26. I would not use the hyphenated word--may something like 'at forty, he whispered a prayer every day--be sure to recount and SAVE.
