This is such a sad poem. It is very relatable as well. I have lost loved ones who have made their last journey many times. Thank you for sharing and take care of yourself.

That was beautifully written, expressing your feelings of how you are now walking alone. I had a neighbour, years ago, who reached his 100th birthday. He used to come and talk to me. He said a lot of what you have said here, he was lonely and wanted to be with his wife, who'd died thirty years earlier. Like you, his brain was still as sharp as it ever was, and his memories were amazing to listen to. When my husband died aged 46, he said he wished he could change places. I understand how you feel. That was 36 years ago. Keep up your poetry, my friend, they are enspiring, so well written with smooth rhyme and a joy to read. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

I'd like to congratulate you, Jaybird, on creating something genuinely remarkable. Your poem is beautiful and stirs up so many emotions. Death is inevitable for us all, making your poem so relatable. Fantastic.

Such a deeply felt poem, it brought tears to my eyes. But, gosh you've reached a truly magnificent age and are still writing great poems. The rhythm and rhyme are excellent and the ideas well expressed. Keep writing them!

Your words are heartfelt and deeply personal. Your writing has inspired, comforted, and warmed the hearts of many of your readers every time you put your pen to paper.
Time does fly. It feels like suddenly the years have gone by and I am a senior.
Best wishes and God bless you.
