HI Jay, as I get older I ask myself where
the time went...where my youth went...
where some of my family and friends are
now gone...I miss their company...
the time seems to fly by...
but like you my sweet friend...I am thankful
for every minute God has given...for the love
felt by my family and friends...
your poem broke my heart sweet guy...
but what I believe with all my heart...
we will all meet in Heaven...
I love your poem...but sad...always great rhythm and rhyme..
you have a wonderful talent for writing...very well written...love Linda xxoo

Yes indeed, the Bible says we should be be thankful, even in the supposed bad things, in all things give thanks, because the bad things shape, it can be into a better person, or, alternatively to the lesser. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

If you write what you feel, and feel what you write, your readers will feel it also. You have done exactly that. This poem, like all your poetry, is sincere and heartfelt with a message to inspire all who read. I too, wonder where all the years have gone, but am glad God has blessed me to continue to enjoy life. Thank you for sharing your most personal thoughts.

Well, you just broke my heart with one poem. I've worked in the medical field, with elderly, my entire adult life. I've always enjoyed learning about their life. I'm grateful you loved a happy, long life. Thank you for sharing such a personal poem. Many blessings to you.

Great poem with excellent rhymes and smooth meter.
Time has flown for me too. I can't believe how old I am and how old my children are and their children. But.....as we near the end of this life, we have eternity waiting for us. Can't wait to meet you there.
Blessings my friend

Really heartfelt poem about your long life and friends. I know what you mean.
The rhymes do not seem forced. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Your words are poignant, but well expressed. Good job with the rhymes, the smooth flow, and your heartfelt message. You are right. It would be great for one last time with loved ones.
Respectfully, Jan

Time always flies real fast. When we enjoy life it isn't there anymore. It becomes a classic. Excellent work! No grammatical errors. Thank you for sharing! Interesting.

And we're thankful for you, Jaybird. Reading your poems gives us hope and encouragement for our older years. If we can encourage others through our writing, God can use us still.
I know I'm nearing journeys end. (journey's)

A beautiful poem about reaching a stage of life where you are traveling on your own, lonely and without the ones you have loved. A sad and bittersweet mood permeates the poem. Well done.
