A very interesting story about why some families sell their home and travel the world. Bloggers can get along and some can't. To be with one another it is trying f you don't give each other some space.

This is an excellent story. It reminds me of the Television show "Promise Land which was a spin off of Touched By An Angel. Gerald McRaney plays a man that travels all around the county in a trailor with a big family of children taking odd jobs and seeking a purpose. This family sounds amazing. It should be just right for the contest.

I really appreciate your wonderful review! My story was such a contrast to the other entry in the contest. Meeting this family was like being cocooned in love, probably the secret of their successful travels with minimal conflict.

There's not much left to write about for the Family Story contests but yours is pretty interesting! The Zapp family seems like quite a family. They were very brave to spend twenty years traveling and even having their babies where ever they happen to be. The whole family deserves to be commended for the way of life that they chose and for handling it so well. I doubt many of us could have done it. After forty-eight years of marriage, we still can't put up the Christmas tree without arguing. LOL Good luck with the contest. You did an outstanding job on this story!

Passion, what a lovely word. If everyone had that get up and go the world would smile, for we would all meet somewhere in life, Jenny. Like you and your x-pardner riding the road, seeing the sights. I like your non-fiction story. It is a great offering for the Story about a Family,

Herman and Candy sound like a remarkable couple in a family perfect for a non-fiction story. Even when two people feel they are compatible, they both have to make a conscious decision they are going to make a relationship work. The Zapp's 20 year adventure sounds amazing, but so does your "two-year motorcycling expedition throughout Australia." I found this to be an interesting family story, and will you well in the contest.

This is an inspirational story of carving a living and a life without the drag of unbreachable security and deferring present happiness. Only in Australia, maybe.

Thanks for sharing about this family. It's really not as unusual as before as internet access has enabled many young families to homeschool their children and travel the world while still working either by contracting or working online. We know a filmmaker and his family who live in a van. Definitely not for everyone but if the entire family can be flexible and not have any chronic illness, I'm sure people can do it much easier now.
Best wishes in the contest!

What a fun story, and what an amazing family. I can't believe you met them two more times in your travels. That's incredible. I love the sense of freedom and spontaneity they show, just as I admire your sense of adventure in taking your two-year motorcycle expedition. Sadly, the spontaneity and adventure genes seem to have missed me, but I admire those who have them. Thanks for sharing your story, and good luck in the contest.

I thought it was bizarre we kept meeting them, but maybe it was because we were on an adventure to see as much of Australia as possible and so were they... unless it was a subliminal repeat message for me to take notice of their bold living and be inspired by it (it worked).
(I wrote this as a response to the other entry in the prompt, which I hate for its violence. Initially the contest rules stated no murder, but when I reviewed her story and inquired why there was an assassination in it, I later noticed the rules had changed mysteriously to omit any mention of 'no murder'.)

This is a great story of not only meeting this family but of telling their story of their free and adventurous spirit of being on the road for all those years. I do not know if they were criticized for their travels with children, but they gave their kids not only an adventure and education of a lifetime, they gave them a devoted and loving family.
Thank you for your story.
Best wishes and luck in the contest.

Love this family story about this family with their living souvenirs. What an amazing experience for them all. I bet the children grew up with strong family values, problem solving skills, great imaginations and story telling ability, and a love of history, geography, nature and botany, and financial skills as well as cooking ... the list goes on. So glad you entered this very interesting one, written well.
