Congratulations on your first-place win. I thought it was a very insightful and thought-provoking piece of writing. It also appears reflective and cathartic. It sounds as though you've met your share of monsters. I pray they will all be banished from your life and that we develop the weapons to combat them when they rear their ugly heads.

Thanks for this great review. I personally haven't been affected by someone like that, but I'm close to someone who has. I appreciate this great review. :)

A vert thoughtful and all too real take on the topic of monsters. The form rhyme and flow of the poem are well done and the picture a telling addition.

You are so right!...
I don't see any faults with your write.
Your subject matter is awesome...
You've summed up what real life monsters
are probably about... They can be regular folks
that you should be able to trust... But then things go awry.

Thank you for this thoughtful review and the 6 stars. That you can relate to this, makes me think that you have gone through some bad experiences. I'm sorry if that was the case. Thanks again for reading my poem.

This is an excellently composed description of those who lack humanity -- psychopaths and sociopaths. Not all turn to serial killing. They just make smaller nicks and cuts that destroy someone else, and then just walk away. They are without conscience.

The objective correlative of your work reminisces monsters as person's in human disguise.

The work highlights them as untoward in their in their relationship with their fellow human beings

Some good points are very well made here. It's more difficult to fight and defeat the monsters that are unseen, or in disguise. We very often see the effects of the damage they do, even before we recognize them as monsters. These monsters are, indeed, scarier than the visual monsters of horror movies. Well written.

Great poem for the prompt. the last stanza says it all:

Monsters are anyone who take away
all one is and might someday become.
Monsters have been here since time began,
and will be here 'til our world succumbs.

A great read and so true.
