I'm guessing there is a spiritual interpretation to this simple but beautiful verse. It can't simply be about a guide dog leading a blind man, even if that does require, as with the spiritual message, a leap of faith. Clever piece.

Thank you PK for your review, and for reflecting on my piece. Your interpretation is valid, and I appreciate your thoughts and words.
Comment from pome lover
well, as a blind person, I'm sure he trusts his dog, though I truly can't imagine that he has a rich and full life, UNLESS he's referring to trusting in God and he says, "Lead me on..."
That is my interpretation.
Very nice contest entry.

Comment from Pam (respa)
-Nice image and presentation.
-The syllable count is good, along with the topic.
-I can see where there are two meanings.
-The literal one is about the value of a seeing eye dog.
-Figuratively, it sounds like person A is willing
to follow person B in order to have a better life.
-It could be richer because of money, or just
because that person has led a good life
and person A needs that in their life.
-Thanks for offering something to think about.
-Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for a super review, Pam, and for your good wishes. I hadn't actually thought of that but it is a very valid interpretation, so thank you!

You are very welcome. I took you at your word that you were interested in interpretations. Did you have others in mind?

I was thinking of a spiritual application, maybe to following God's plan for one's life, even when we can't see what lies ahead, just trusting Him to guide us step by step.

That is a good one, too. Thanks for sharing it.

Maybe you are talking about a blind person who may follow the dog that may lead on the blind master of the pet dog; well said, well done; post more. ALCREATOR LITT DEAR (D R)
