What a beautiful and impactful story you've written. Having volunteered in a Pro-Life clinic a number of years ago, I heard those words many times - "I Don't Want To Do It!", especially when the young woman might be leaning towards abortion. Thanks for this well-written story.

I am getting slower by the second and every time I think I have a handle on being polite and telling everyone how much their efforts and words mean to me (truly mean to me) I discover I have just fallen further behind. I appreciate that people actually enjoy what spills from my aging brain and couldn't find more happiness than sharing my writing. I thank you for your time and thoughts.

Sending a basket of smiles and hugs and apologies... especially to those I've left waiting for days.

    HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
May cupid sprinkle you with much joy!

Poor Sable. I could relate to this because my sister was 17 when she got pregnant. She was terrified, so I could connect with Sable's fear and anxiety. I couldn't imagine being able to let the baby go once it was born. Oh, that would be so hard.

This is a realistic and delightful story. "You and Kenny played in the adult world," is the most meaningful line in story. Teens participate in what they think are adult activities without the maturity to handle the consequences. I'm so glad Sable's mother was supportive and didn't try to force the trauma of an abortion on her daughter. Another happy ending.

Hi there,

Sigh... Sable doesn't know what she wants and that's half the problem these days. Kids are in such a rush to grow up with no idea of the realities of life. Well-written piece.

I think you wove the backstory in well here, it's a nice transition into and out of. That's not always easy to do.

"I'm awake. Just resting my eyes,"- this should end with a period rather than a comma.

Crocodile tears streamed down Sable's face,- crocodile tears usually means not genuine, fake, insincerity. I'm not sure that's what you meant here.

All the best
G

These situations happen every day. Children giving birth to children, and live made difficult before the parents are ready for the responsibilities. And the babies, stuck in an unpredictable world. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Begin Again a happy Thursday to you. I hope all is well. That was a very good story, it was written well and I'm sure it is very relatable to a lot of people for a number of reasons. Great job and have a great day!

Sable's eyes were closed, but her mind kept replaying the moment she'd told Kenny she didn't want to do it, but then melted under his passionate kisses and did it(). (anyway)

Great story and thank you for sharing.

Your story is well-written, as always. I believe you portrayed the experience of teenage pregnancy very well. I do not see any ways to make this better.

This is a good story -- sad and heartbreaking, but realistic. I like the way you wrote Sable as being torn by so many emotions. That reflects the true experiences of a young woman her age, alone in a pregnancy. Blessings. Carol

The writing is excellent. The theme unfortunately speaks of the dilemma many young women must face. I am glad she went through with the birth and has chosen to keep her child. The repetition of "I don't want to" is effective, and the story shows that sometimes one's decisions are disregarded, but hopefully this story has a good outcome, and that her final wish, not to give up her child, is respected.
