A tongue in cheek commentary.

I like the playfulness of this poem and also its reality. The crossover between hearing and smelling is particularly clever. The flow is good.

Thanks for sharing.

I like how you call the nose a "sniffer". It is unique and creative and fits perfectly in your words. This is a fun poem to read out loud with the strong rhythm of your words. The cliches you have listed are quite interesting, I like the one about people with high self-esteem.

This is a terrific form of poetry that I haven't tried. I think the sense of smell is the strongest sense we have. Did you know that you can't taste anything if you lose your sense of smell? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I enjoyed the graphic poster as well as the poem. I think we have all experienced those at some point in our lives. I especially like the 'outside the box' one. I had heard the saying and have used it, but didn't know research part.

I enjoyed reading about the five cliches but the poem didn't do much for me. It didn't rise up to the standard you set by offering us the cliches which actually meant more than we thought. The title, Trusting your senses set me up for a good time and the presentation with the cliches written on the poster did just that but the poem left something to be desired, my friend, I am sorry to tell you so.
Thanks for sharing what you know about the five cliches!

Well written. Good work.
Odd that we translate fishy as bad, when to a fisherman or a chef, or a hungry person ...
"wash my hands of it" might predate Macbeth at least as far back as Rome's Pontius Pilot of the New Testament.
Nice poem. Thank you.

Hah, JLR!
Smiles all around!
I, too, possess a persnickety "sniffer!"
When my son was a little boy, we had many, many conversations regarding when his soccer uniform and accessories needed to be washed! :)

Thank you for sharing!

Have you ever wondered who in their right mind came up with so many variations of poetry? You did this Octelle swell and therefore think you should frame a new brand of poetry yourself. Even word check doesn't recognize the word OCTELLE
