I agree with everything you wrote. I became a nurse in 1973. I have lived through those changes, and it was not a fun ride. My suggestion is go to the media and name names. Health care does not want bad news in the media. I feel for you and your family. Sending prayers.

I am getting slower by the second and every time I think I have a handle on being polite and telling everyone how much their efforts and words mean to me (truly mean to me) I discover I have just fallen further behind. As a retired RN, I have to totally agree with you. Our world of insurance and the bottom line has put so many lives in jeopardy. It is a sad thing to witness the changes. I don't know what it will take, but I am a proponent of universal health care. People should be cared for. Keep on your soap box, and I'll stand there with you. Have a great afternoon. Shirley

You certainly have a right to rant. So sorry for your friend Arianna. I will tell you my sister-in-law had a stroke with A++ insurance. She had a therapist every day at home even where she lives in the country. Someone I know had a stroke, ended up in rehab hospital with no therapist. The family finally took him home as he was not getting proper care, Of course, he had limited insurance.
It is a sad commentary of our society.

I am so sorry to hear how the system has thus far failed Arianna and her family. I will pray for her continuously, and pray for the miracle of compassion from the medical community so Arianna can be treated. Please keep us apprised of her progress.

Thank you for having the courage to bring attention to this greed. Mercy Health in Michigan just built a fabulous, ten-story hospital in Muskegon. It is fancier than most luxury hotels. Yet, they have the same policy; if you can't pay, go home and die.

Certainly God can do that miracle for Arianna. I'm sorry to hear that she has been turned away. Mayo clinic does not turn patients away if they could help. We have a friend who is there now and they are poor so it's not because of money. We'll pray.

But if she is stabilized and will die due to an auto-immune complication they can stabilize her and send her HOME?

A) Start a Go-Fund-Me page.
B) Contact a malpractice attorney and (most importantly)
C) Contact every news outlet they can and get this "human interest" story out there. Nothing affects a health care "business" like poor word of mouth.
I've seen it happen. Bad press and suddenly doctors are stepping into the limelight to "volunteer" their care!
I'm praying for Arianna.
