I tried fishing as a hobby but I do not have the much-needed patience. Trouts are clever fish and it is difficult to catch them. There are many types of trouts which we are trying to catch. Let's hope you catch a big one. Thanks for sharing, Kit.

You did a good job with your club response on shoes. I enjoyed reading your poem. Your words are filled with great imagery. I could see everything you wrote and imagine you in those shoes squishing along on the bank.

Perhaps you should swap your trainers for wellies when you go fishing and you may have better luck! Just kidding, you created wet dripping path underfoot here and I hate soggy trainers, much enjoyed, very atmospheric, love Dolly x

Ah! Your poem definitely resonated with me: some of my fondest childhood memories are those that involve fishing with my father.
If I were to make any suggestions, it would be that I would omit the first line. Your poem is well-crafted without the descriptors of the sounds your Converses make...

The best part of this piece is either the imagery or the memories of wading many a stream but only once for trout unless you consider Dolly Vardens which makes it twice when we were stranded in Kodiak, AK. There, trout, of any kind are disliked unfairly as they eat salmon eggs layed, which you may know is BIG money in Alaska.

Yep, brook trout where I live in teh South East in the US is also big money for fly fishing outfitters.

That's so great. I feel it squishing. Very nice entry on shoes, I mean who hasn't waded in tenny shoes? Good luck with this...oh, I was a PF Flyer kid myself cause they run faster and jump higher...when not soggy from the gutter.

Just describe the young boy's Journey away from the fishing hole and what had happened to the fishing hole dreaming of catching the big trout!
...
