Your apacity for insight is impressive. So many people never get to the place where they can accept that it is not the external, but our responses to it that cause stress, whether in defense or accusation.

Thank you for your encouragement, Nancy!
It has taken a long time to accept that it is our responses that can cause stress. We all feel internal pressure at one time or another. Thanks for your kind words.

This resonated with me, as I feel like we are all stressed, sometimes of our own doing, often times because of things out of our control. What a thoughtful piece you have written here. What I took from this is that we control our destiny, our thoughts and our way of looking at the worId.

I hope writing this helped relieve some of your stress.

Yes, I agree we control our destiny and our way of looking at the world. We all feel stressed at one time or another and I am glad this resonated with you.
And yes, writing this was cathartic for me.

You are so right. Most--at least much--of the time, we can look in the mirror to see the cause of our problems! This is HARD to face sometimes,
but face it, we must. Your writing is expressive and descriptive.

Thanks, Janice, for your insightful and thought-provoking review.
I agree it is hard to face and looking at ourselves in the mirror helps to see the cause of our problems. Thank you for your kind words and encouraging comments.

This Essay speaks we often blame our external pressures like children, grandchildren, our jobs, our spouses while we are not quite aware of our internal pressures but actually these pressures we cannot control and we continue to blame others but it is not true as we are to blame ourselves; well said, well done; post more. Hi there,

I guess I agree to some degree. It is our responses to outside stimuli which determine a lot of things... however, those stimuli have to be present in the first place and sometimes, you really have little choice and have to suffer the consequences.

or the grocer the baker the candlestick maker, - should probably separate these out with commas.

Interesting observation.

Thanks, GMG, for your insightful analysis of this piece. I think, personally that the internal pressure can come all on its own without external stimuli forging through our beings. As far as the commas go I chose to use little punctuation for this. Thanks for the suggestion though.

That is so true, and I didn't realise how often we do that. It can't be our fault, certainly not! But nine and a half times out of ten, it really is our own fault. You've made me look deeper into myself, Jesse, and I'll make sure I stop doing it. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I am happy, Sandra, that I have encouraged you to look deeper into yourself. I am also glad that you agree with my hypothesis that external pressure is not always to blame. Thanks for the kind comments, my friend.
    Have a wonderful weekend,
