To be small is not always so much fun when you want to do bigger things. If this is a flying angel, who is trying to earn their wings, I hope mom does give the angel enough time to grow into adulthood.

The meter and rhyming was pleasant sounding.
Good imagery.
"mom said ..." - capitalize Mom, not because it lead a line, but because it's a name.

A nice fantasy poem. The words are playful. The flow is good. The rhymes are not forced. The picture fits well with the subject.
Suggestion:
You wrote:

Possible typo. I think you meant Mom said there'll be time to fly.
