A wonderful story of courage and faith. I like the running line "I'll never ask..." it gives a complete metaphoric circle to the story--birth to death.

Great story. I learned previously about his life, but never knew about him contacting polio. I'm assuming this is the same McCormick that started the Chicago Tribune. You did a wonderful job.

This is a different McCormick and has no relationship. Thank you, for the review, and the stars!! Terry.

Hi, Terry,
What a great, inspirational story! I liked the subtle humor with Jim promising God he would never ask again, but he did, and his prayer was answered each time.
Just lost a lifetime friend, a mentor who gave of himself all of his 82 years.
Don't have an actual count, but people flowed out onto the parking lot.
Great last line, a clincher.
Take care,
irish

Interesting story, that I had to finish. People like that don't come along very often. Polio devastated so many lives. Good story and thanks for sharing.

That was a beautiful story about a beautiful man. All those times he asked God to do something for him and he wouldn't ask for another thing, made me smile, and I'm sure God knew there would be more requests and He would have smiled. The end of his life, though still young, was doing what God asked of him. And I believe you're right about that, he did smile. Well done, this was a lovely read and I'd love to learn more about him. :)) Sandra xx

Hi Terry, it was an interesting story about a man who was quite the character. He had a lot of struggles to overcome but he managed it. He became a very successful business man and was well liked. Well written. Ulla:)))

Hi there,

I had to look twice at that picture as it looks like they're all giving the Nazi salute...

God must have really liked Jim. I know folk who've prayed for things and never received a single iota... mysterious ways indeed. (not to take away from Jim's story. Just an observation)

The Dallas Acts Kind Week had many events at churches, synagogues, mosques, and schools.- that's the key, the inclusiveness of differing culture / religions. And a fine example to many 'christians' out there.

throughout the city lead events encouraging - should lead be led here?

The last lines are a great commentary on the piece and a fine send-off.

Thank you very much for the review and the edit, I think you are right and will change it.

The picture is the all-city choir singing the song "From a Distance." It was a gesture pointing to heaven. Terry.

This is a great read. He went through quite a bit in his life. I love when he was asking God and God gave. Certainly, a perfect prelude to the ending. What a wonderful piece of work.

What a great tribute you have written for Jim. We can all take a lesson from his life. That last paragraph that you wrote is outstanding. God does some wonderful things.

AWESOME! I loved reading your straight from your heart words about your friend and mentor. Your words are well thought out with great examples of Jim's big heart. I feel as though I know a bit about why you loved this man so. He was one of a kind.
Thanks for sharing his story.
Respectfully, Jan
