Great rhyming on your super interesting theme of this annual Venetian festival; and the visuals you paint so vividly!

I have visited St. Mark's Square once, but never during Carnival time.
There is a great sculpture that guards that plaza. At the Empire Plaza in Albany, NY, there is a similar sculpture.

Automobile bumpers became the hallmark of Jason Seley's artwork. Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller recommended Seley's work for the Empire State Plaza Art Collection after acquiring a work of his art from The Museum of Modern Art. Colleoni II is based off of a full-scale replica of the equestrian sculpture of Colleoni in Newark, New Jersey. Seley reinterprets the antiquated format of the equestrian sculpture in a modern way through the use of automobile bumpers.

Ciao !
I live 350 km from Venezia but I too have never been to see the Carnevale.
It goes on my bucket list with the tulips and the scaled down buildings .
I Googled Jason Seley the knight looks awesome , idem Hercules .. and using bumpers ..
I saw he did also other work sculpture and paintings but the metal art is the most impressive.
Keep safe!

Looks and sounds like fun...
Your presentation is great, as far as I'm concerned,
didn't come across any faults with your penmanship.
A notable piece... My compliments!

Ciao Rebel !
Thanks for the shinning six star review.
It?s a unique experience..
Though, I live 350 km from Venice , I have never been there for the Carnevale
tomorrow Saturday it begins and ends on the I st of March -Martedi Grasso ( Shrove Tuesday).
Last Saturday I watched the final of the Sanremo musical festival.
Irama, the singer, wrote the song thinking of his grandmother who died.
It came 4th. Here is the translation. Enjoy video.
I believe that his voice transmits the deep emotions stirring inside him .. he was very attached to his grandmother.
Lyrics :
If you are wind, you will sing
If you are water, you will shine
If you are what I will be
And if you are time, I'll wait for you forever
If you are light, you will warm
If you are the moon, I will see you
And if you are here, I won't know
But if it's you, I'll feel it
Wherever you are
Wherever I am
In every act I'll look for you
If you aren't there, I'll understand
And in the silence I'll listen to you
If I'm on the ground, you'll raise me up
If it's cold, you will burn
I know you can hear me
Where every soul has a color
And every tear has your name
If you come back here, if you ever do, you know that
I'll wait for you
Wherever you are
Wherever I am
In every act I'll look for you
If you aren't there, I'll understand
And in the silence I'll listen to you
I'll listen to you
If you are wind, you will sing

That's a very beautiful piece...

You paint a very flamboyant and colourful picture of Venice during the festival and one that would entice me to travel for a visit some February. I've been to the city several times, but always in summer. I do love it, and it might be nice to see another side of it. Thank you for this interesting and informative article. Good luck in the contest.
