My heart is always with you Beth because I've learned we came from a generation where we always helped our family and when things went wrong... they really went wrong. One disaster after another ... and we wonder how we managed to make it through. You've done an outstanding job.

Hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol, I have to be writing about such negative things but when I started this, I decided to tell it the way I remember it. I did write a few things in a journal I kept a few years that triggers my memory

This was pretty grim--stunning depiction of the car disaster makes for great segue to the cliffhanger--worse to come? Ouch. Looking forward to it, so to speak. Well done.

Yes, this was a year of my discontent. I've put of writing about it as long as possible. Thank you for hanging in there with me.

Girl, you have lived an interesting life with these kids. My girls put us through many things but not like some things you mention toward yours. Although my boys put me in front of the judge a few times, it all weighs out to be the same I suppose.

Thank you for the review. My kids always kept us too involved in their lives. I only went to court once with one of mine but only as support for a traffic ticket. The judge was so mean I left in tears. Now I see all my children several times a week and they all love me and seem to enjoy spending time with me, so it all worked out

Great. Yes, I occasionally meet with two of my daughters and a son on Tuesdays for lunch at a nearby diner.

Your story, Beth, is interesting with a lot going on from every angle. I agree with your husband, Christi was keeping both you and Evan upset. I believe the move to Detroit would have been a disaster--glad they reconsidered. The sale of the acres was heart breaking. My mother always believed bad news came in threes. I'm glad no one was hurt when the car crashed.

Thank you Jan, I was so glad they didn't move to Detroit. I think it would have been disastrous as well. Thank for pointing out my misspelled word.

I gues I would have to read more of the previous chapters for what I gather here is a family in distress, poining fingers at each other but what assumes they know where the fault lies for every finger pointed out there are four pointing in.

Thank you for the review. I guess you would have had to have read more to understand what this family was all about. Actually it was a very close knit family that cared about each other, but from time to time they got off track. I write it in sequence as things happen. Some good and some bad like all families.

You have a wonderful voice when you write your family memoir. You really know how to bring alive the events you are relating. A fine piece of writing.
potential SPAG for your consideration:

Things are not going so well with this memoir, but that's honest to goodness life. My only suggestion is I got a little confused reading about the kids. Maybe each child should have their own paragraph.

Thank you. All the kids had separate paragraphs, but Carol who got three so I put stars in to separated them. This was a dark time in my life, mostly because of my parents problems. Being an only child has its disadvantages when the parents start needing help.
