Ah, you've said a whole lot with these three lines, Beth. It is sad that children are too often taught the ills of present day society. People here are taking their children to the "Freedom Convoy" in Ottawa to have them witness the chaos of hatred, fowl language and demand for "freedom" from following rules.

Anyway, great poem. Good luck in the contest.

Your poem/contest entry has a great message, Beth. It is so true children learn prejudice at an early age mainly at home.
I rate 5 because I believe you will revise/

[the gleam in God's eyes ]

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading. Yes, God takes us as infants. If we continue with His guidance, we'll always remain in His favor. I enjoyed reading and good luck with the contest.

We are all born innocent. Our lives and opinions are formed from the teachings of others. You have put all this in just a few words. Good luck with this piece in the contest Beth.

Yes, all of those hateful thoughts and demeaning words are usually learned from their parents. That continues the curse. What a wonderfully written poem.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thank you so much for a great review. I don't think children would grow up to be prejudiced if their parents weren't. They learn from watching us.

How true that is Beth, we avoided anything to do with race, other than God loving all, and bring a lover of what He created, He loved the work of His hands, God doesn't make mistakes. Beautifully written dear girl. Blessings Roy
