This is a poignant quatern poem kahpot and your refrain line works well all through. There is still life there but the memories are missing. That would be a hard situation for the loved ones. Nicely done.

This is a strong poem with beautiful writing. A great club entry. The repeat phrases work well. The descriptive words you chose created clear imagery. The artwork feels as though it's from a surrealist artist. Very effective.

This is such a poignant poem! I dearly hope it isn't biographical. While I have been blessed in that I know no one with Alzheimer's, I have had recent experience with someone who had a right occipital stroke, which left him with memory loss (among other deficits). It's a difficult thing. Thankfully, my friend has mostly recovered, although some memories are lost forever.

This is such a poignant poem! I dearly hope it isn't biographical. While I have been blessed in that I know no one with Alzheimer's, I have had recent experience with someone who had a right occipital stroke, which left him with memory loss (among other deficits). It's a difficult thing. Thankfully, my friend has mostly recovered, although some memories are lost forever.

The plight of those suffering from Alzheimer's - and their families - is a sad one indeed. When memories fade, it's impact is devastating. We tend to hold on desperately for a tiny bit of light to shine through. But the dimness only increases.

while you just cry as time recedes
This is a sad and touching quatern that captures the emotions with great imagery.

I think this is a person who is aware that his memory is fading. He's telling everyone about the path he's on now, no longer interested in what's going on around him, but he still needs to be cared for. Very moving poem.

Great entry for the Quatern event in the Potlatch club. Good form. Interesting subject. ... Somehow life goes on, even when your heart is broken. I like the seeds metaphor. Good rhymes.

This is touching and offers an insider's look into the loss of memory and how it feels to slowly gently slip away from your family members. Although extremely powerful, you give life to one who is on the wrong side of the blind shield of memory loss and possibly dementia. Thank you for representing the ones who are losing it and don't have the ability to explain to their adult children that they need to care for their own children and let the poor old folks die in peace.
