Here are stanzas exuding a sense of sheer joy at the prospect of the onset of the season of Spring -'smell of wet earth permeates the air'- my favourite season too!

Spring in MN can be one of the most enjoyable times to hike. The waterfalls flow faster with the melting of the ice and snow. The heat isn't bad and the bugs are still in hibernation. Thank God!

You are right! I can't stand bugs, especially mosquitoes, they eat me alive. Spring though is perfect, relatively bug free. Thanks for this great review. :)

This was a good poem for spring. You've made it seem lovely, and I am looking forward to winter ending and spring springing again. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent entry for the Poem for Spring writing prompt contest.

I love the nature theme.

You have a strong form and flow.

Good luck in the contest.

Spring is such a beautiful time of the year. It is my second favorite season next to fall. You have written a beautiful tribute to the season and without using any of the forbidden words!

Oh yes, when one gets a little tired of the interminable cold weather their thoughts turn to the thoughts of approaching imminent spring where the weather will become warmer, the ice melts, the wild flowers bloom. Beautifully written a poem in articulate, quatrains in abcb rhyme pentametric stanzas, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

My least favorite season is Spring but you have helped redeem it in my eyes!

I'm also living in Minnesota and looking forward to the spring. You name all the things that will wake up or come upon us in a month including the puddles and the wet smell of early spring. Yes. I can't wait.

Well done.

Thank you! I'm in Duluth about 150 miles from the twin cities. Where do you live? We just got around 11 inches of snow, so spring seems like a dream...lol. It will get here sooner or later. Thanks again for reading my poem. :)

I live in St. Paul and we often drive to Tofte to hike and ski. We are avid cross country skiers so we like snow. But I can't wait for spring.

Your poem about spring is excellent. First of all, you did avoid all words in the list--quite a challenge. It is skillfully written and vividly descriptive of
of the appealing elements of spring.
