Deb,

Noooooo.... Not in the house!!! Never, ever, ever in the house!!! I mean, I don't want the thing within thirty MILES of the house, but certainly not past the doorway! YEEEUUUCCCKKK!!!

*smile* But it's told well...

Notes:
1.) "What is it(?)"

2.) "A snake.(")

I thought this was pretty funny. Those nits came right at the time the snake was presented - I would have forgotten how to TALK much less type. hahahaha

Oh, yeah! There's an extra symbol at the very opening from EE. Need to chuck that. Thanks!

I'm with you on the snakes. They can live outside as long as they don't bother me inside. lol. But mice and rats... NOOOO! They must all die.
Thanks for catching the nits. No one else did. You have the BEST eye on the site. :)
    Blessings,

Loved your story. I could picture the looks on the faces as I read it. You did a great job of telling it. It flowed well, had a nice pace and believable dialog. I hope those who vote enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks for sharing it.
Cecilia

HAHAHAHHA! Your life will forever stay interesting Deb!! I love how you described him!

I've never heard of a Bullsnake. Will have to look that up.

But I've encountered snakes before. There was actually one time where I had my foot right next to one, didn't even see it. But my sister yelled it was right next to me and it quickly slithered away. Another time, a snake just slid right across this path we were walking on-- thick and black.

You know I always love your posts Deb!!

lol. I've never had a big, thick black one near me before, but I'm not scared of them so it probably wouldn't bother me. I USED to be, but with those two boys in my life, and then a neighbor who had boas he loved to drape around my neck, I was cured. lol
thanks for the pretty rating and the visit.
HEY - are you going to submit to the kid's anthology?

Kids are funny. I am a mother of 2, both adults now. I look at them and think back to when they were little. It is so different, but they are still my babies.

When we first moved here to the country my daughter got up close and personal with two snakes mating on our back porch one night. Right up beside them, my husband and I freaked out, but it all turned out okay.

Very well told memory.

Thank you and YIKES! On the back porch? Without permission? lol
Our babies will always be our babies. My youngest (Josh) is now 29. Who was it that said our kids give us the longest days and the shortest years of our lives? So correct...
Thank you for reading and your kind comments.
    Be blessed,

Oh my! No wonder you developed such a sense of humor! You had to in order to survive! I think bull snakes are mildly venomous, right? It was a bit dangerous to bring them home, especially after running it over!
Loved how you give us the grandsons' response and loved the ending! I think this will do well in the contest!!

thank you, Helen. I don't know if they're venomous or not, but the days of bullsnakes are long past... Thank the Lord! lol

He is quite something, JC. He runs me around town to pay bills since I don't drive and any time he stays in the car instead of walking in with me to wherever the folks that work there are sad that he didn't come in to entertain them! He's a mess.

This is a good story. I can fully picture your jumping up and down with the sauce spoon in your hands. (I would do the same!) The FS Gremlins got to your story, so you might want to fix those crazy characters. It's interesting that two sons brought home rather large bull snakes and had some fun with you. I'm sure the little boys loved seeing the snake. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings. Carol

Eww, snakes are my one phobia, they freak me out. You have several computer glitches throughout this story. They are easy enough to remove in editing. It's a very good story. I with you luck in the contest.

I found and fixed the glitches - thank you for pointing them out. I'm not a big snake fan, either, but with those two boys I learned to tolerate them. lol
