I can just imagine drifting off beneath the trees in my own little world, with natures melodies as the breeze sings me to real serenity, very well written and best wishes for your contest****kahpot

You have a great way to capture that daydreamy "minute" that being out in the sunshine on a summer's day can provide. The "beams of noon" seems to have the same effect of drowsiness as the moon!
Best wishes in the contest!

Your beautiful Minute poem does justice to Monet's stunning painting. It is delightful to imagine the gentle warmth of a languid and lazy summer afternoon. Easy to visualise with the lyrical gentle qualities of your imagery too. Best wishes for the contest.

Very restful and atmospheric. The Minute format lends itself well to this kind of bucolic scene with the shorter lines falling like thistledown from the opening premise of each verse. Very nicely done. I hope it does well in the contest. It deserves to.

Your minute poem is very well-written and vividly descriptive of a lovely, relaxing, warm afternoon out in nature--when the word "hurry" would never enter one's mind!

I remember you saying your enjoy the minute poem form. I share that with you, as I find it very pleasing too, and it is a little more difficult to write than it appears at first.

Excellent use of dream-like images, and your iambic metre and rhymes are spot on.

A little typo in the author notes:

Claude Monet.

Wishing you great luck with the Committee with this gem. :))

Your lovely minute poem captures the languid feeing of Monet's lady enjoying the lazy days of summer. His paintings were always so serene and soothing. Your choice of words perfectly describes the azure blues and tranquil hues of his artwork. Well done!

Great poem for the contest. Beautiful and lush melody to this mood piece. love the internal rhyme in the first line--dreams/beams. This is really a nice interpretation of Monet's artwork. Well done.

Hi Tim. Thank you very much. I am delighted you liked it. As I said in class, the Minute form is dear to my heart because I learned to write in iambic meter with this form. I appreciate your lovely review!!!

The artwork by Monet is beautiful beyond compare. The Minute poetry format suits this lazy summer afternoon with flowers in bloom all around the two of them in the field. I love the descriptions of the days of summer. With all the time in the world to do what you want to do without constraint. This is a lovely poem and deserves no less than to win the contest.
Have a wonderful day,
Jesse

This is lovely. You described a perfect day in the painting. In fact, you wouldn't even need a picture since you've painted on with your words. 8-)
I especially like the idea of the motes dipping to tease the sun rays.
I love Monet's works.
