Your minute poem for the contest is just lovely. I like the way you chose to rhyme it, and the meter is great. It's peaceful, but I confess that if I were Monet's model, he'd have to paint me between sneezes! Lol. Have a blessed week.

Haha... your sneezes remind me of my own... we have pollen everywhere and I am sneezing too. LOL. Thank you so much Carol!!

I like Monet, Melissa. :) His paintings are sweet and calming. Your poem flows very well with the feelings that lady must be feeling. I wish I had the luxury to enjoy the gentle breeze and smell the flowers, but it's cold and nothing grows. :) This is a good entry for the Minute Poem Contest.

Thank you Jose. Glad you liked it. You should be feeling gentle breezes down there in south Texas. Hope your springtime is lovely!

A beauty of a minute poem you've crafted here.
A lullaby for the weary mind.
Beautiful rhymes throughout and pleasant imagery for these my drowzy eyes

I remember what you said about the Minute poem in the class. Haha. It's a perfect poem for our meter class. I will see whether I will have time to write one, too.

Well done.

Hi Lisa. Thanks so much. This is definitely written in Iambic meter and perhaps Jim will use it to show that form to Jemela. I really appreciate your comments on it!!! Hugs.

Yes. This is a very artistic and aristocratic piece. I like the painting, too.

I am SO glad that I had a "six star" left to give! This was the PERFECT poem to describe a lazy summer day. "Small, golden motes drift in the wind" was my favorite line. A past time of mine since childhood has been finding and following sunlit specks of dust that sparkle as they float. Your description of the summer sky and the drowsiness of a beautiful warm day was on point. So much that I found myself craving a nap. Superb job!

Hi Jenifer. Thanks so much for your lovely review. So glad you liked it. The Minute poem is one of my favorite. It is the form where I first learned to write in meter... it holds a special place in my heart. I like to watch motes float around too... especially on lazy summer days :) I appreciate your comments.

At first, I said whoa. What does this poem speak of, and then I looked up 'minute' contest and went back to read again, counting syllables. In doing so, I found it understandable. Good luck.
