With all due respect .. when I posted my 2-4-2 a reviewer told me it was a two hundred and forty-two syllable contest

Despite all the other entries had done a 2-4-2 also , I sat down and wrote the 234 syllables that were missing

I was the only one.

To get a three star review and to be told to remove my entry .. really I feel is unfair.

Like I said I posted a 2-4-2 initially and a reviewer told me it was wrong .. he pointed out that it s a two hundred and forty-two syllable contest so I was out by 234 syllables.

I also noticed that a member asked clarification on the contest page below but you didn?t take the time to reply ..


So I decided to add the 234 syllable that were missing ending with the original 2-4-2.

All the committee had to do was advise me to edit and leave just the 2-4-2 but I did not receive any notification from them.

Then you come along and tell me to remove my entry despite you didn?t put 2-4-2 but 242 syllables creating confusion.

If you had replied to the query on the contest page below, all this could have been avoided.


Anyways I still don t see why be so unpleasant asking me to remove my entry .. I m way behind , I m no bother.


I m moving on now .

Confusing, I think! Yours is the only entry that went with the 242 syllable construct! All others went with 2-4-2.

I tried to contact the contest creator for clarification, before voting.

Her reply?

"Just vote."

So I did.

Initially I had written a 2-4-2 but a reviewer pointed out to me that it was a two hundred and forty-two syllable contest

So I added the 234 missing syllables and closed with my original 2-4-2.

The committee accepted the other entries because otherwise there would not have been a contest

I tried to make both part fit together.

Glad you loved the song too.

I gave my vote to the tea leaves poem .. so I can see two members voted for me.

As per the rules, while 242 syllables seemed unlikely, I endorsed yours because you made the effort to comply with the rules AS WRITTEN! Just saying...

In fact 242 just doesn?t make sense and yet the committee didn?t ask me to edit and only post the 2-4-2 at the end of my entry means it was supposed to be two hundred and forty-two syllables.

I have no clue. I thought the purpose of the committee was to monitor submissions and contact the author if the rules were not met. As a 2-4-2 (hyphenates is quite a specific form, I was as perplexed as you! SO I voted for the only one I thought actually followed the "242" instruction! It will be interesting to see how it plays out, don't' you think?

Yes the committee should have told the person who made the contest to be clearer.

I already know how it will play out

members will just vote as if it was supposed to be a 2-4-2 .

I don't understand it. I asked "pookietoo" for clarification, via PM, before I voted, and her reply was "just vote." I'm so sorry for this misunderstanding...and truly do not feel a three-star rating was warranted as the presentation of the rules was an unhyphenated "242." Maybe ask Tom?

I don't know who you are. I do know that before I vote for any contestant, I read the rules. These rules were inconsistent. Alas, it will likely go by the wayside, as these things do!

Before entering I always check other entries to see what I?m up against . Looks like we all mis interpreted the requirements in this contest.

I will just leave it as it is as see what the committee decides seeing we all messed up.

Just a side note : off late some requirements are getting ridiculously.

Also who set up the contest could have written two hundred and forty-two syllables to avoid the confusion seeing it a peculiar request.

Well I did my best and added the 234 syllables that were missing . I finished with the 2-4-2 poem I initially posted.

Hopefully it makes sense the thought process.

Thanks for advising me .I 'm curious to see what the committee will choose to do.

Yes we all have to be united .

We have such a beautiful planet to live on ..

yet our leaders choose to fight among themselves .. it is madness.

All this mess could have been avoided.. and who suffers are the people while our leaders sit in their palaces and decide our destiny.

Listening to Celine Dion s song fills my heart with hope and optimism.
