As I've said many times, when it comes to poetry, I wouldn't know a sonnet from sorbet. And knowing so little about all the particulars and forms, I read little. But on the few occasions I've read R.G's poems in years past, he is one of those few who can reach through your skin and squeeze your heart. Thanks for sharing.

Ric, I think of RG's work as "Old Soul" writing, his poetry harkens back to Shelly, Bryon, even the Bard himself. Terry.

Since I've never read any poetry, shame on me, I can't make a comparison. But the few pieces I've read of RG's would be standouts in my mind, equal to most anyone's efforts. :-)

RG Star, Roy Star has been off-site for a few months. His last poem, The Cold Flame of Regret, is about his son's recent death. It is a powerful insight into his relationship.

A couple of weeks ago, I sent him an email to see how he was doing, and he said he was taking some time off the grid. I hope he gets back. He is a wonderful talent.

Now I'm out of sixes too! This was awesome! I love when someone like RG explains and I actually can relate and know exactly what his point is. I have a problem with getting over excited, and I have to post, even though I can look at it ten more times and see what changes I should make. Y'know what I was telling you about what Glen says he loves most but also dislikes most about me, and it's that inner little girl who gets so excited and can't wait. And if I haven't been able to change that by now, then I expect that maybe that's how God wanted me to be. But I do agree with him, that you can't write poetry with the end rhymes as a priority, because you lose the meaning of your poem. And my style of writing w that little surprise ending, would do me no good, if the other parts didn't make sense.
Terry, thanks for reminding me to read this. It was so awesome!
Great interview!

You presented your third interview well, Terry. Your questions are well thought out. I could see this as an on going project you could share on FS.
Thank you for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you, Jan, the second session with RGstar is being released in a few minutes and the last one next Sunday, but then I think I will let others take over. All three were great to work with. Terry.

This is such a perfect idea, I'm a huge fan of RGSTAR. The first time I read his work I sat with my mouth open, thinking this guy just stepped out of the-land-of-perfect-poetry. He is a fabulous choice.

I must admit, my style and motivation is the same, I likewise like archaic language, douse like the old King James, it is simply...poetic, it makes one stop and think, the rhyme really shouldn't be noticed, and it needs to be natural, not "hammered" in, well done, Terry, you're working your way down! blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy, but credit for this post needs to go to Mr. Star. There are two sessions to be posted on Wed and then Sunday night, I think you will enjoy them too. He is an excellent poet, I enjoy both of your works, Terry.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

-Nice artwork, Terry.
-I am glad you chose RG because he is an
excellent writer and speaker.
-It is interesting to learn about his philosophy of writing.
-I like your first question about writing being timeless.
-I think he channels the Bard very well and has a
command of the language of that period, but doesn't overdo it.
-I like his answer about rhyme, too. It is not the most
important thing. The ideas and connections in a piece are.
The rhyme can always be modified to fit those concepts.
-I look forward to your next two interview with him, too.
-Well done!!

Thank you for the six-star review!! I do know that is for RGstar, as he is the star, I do agree with you about him channeling the Bard. He does admit it and he does it very well! I really appreciated that he agreed to do the interview. Terry.

You are very welcome, but the stars are for you, too, to come up with this idea. You did the work of putting it together and getting people to answer your questions. It is also something different and interesting.

Thank you for sharing this interview with a great poet. I enjoy most of his writings, although I do not always understand them completely. He has given a lot of good advice in this intereview.
