This is a very nice poem. Your syllable count meets the requirements for this writing. Sound like you have fond memories of your students. Very nice picture to compliment this poem. Nice poem.

I enjoyed the whimsical tone of your poem. The photo adds dimension to your writing. You did a nice job with the prompt, and this is a good contest entry.
I would consider your presentation, as it a bit busy. You want your saying to be the focus. The combination of the large font, bold capitalization and use of exclamations serve as distractions. Remeber, less is always more.

Our smallest grandson has just started school, and is having trouble switching from his carefree non school days to now having to learn, there is a delay in his grasping the principle, but he's such a sweet, sweet boy, he'll get there, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. I'm sure your grandson will adjust, as most children do. It always took my son a while to adjust. For some reason, my daughter had no problem and she is a true academic. The photo is from many years ago on her first day of school. Thanks for reading, reviewing and rating my work.

'School Daze', is short, succinct and deftly descriptive. With a minimum of words this talented poet has told it how it is. Good luck with the contest. Please let me know how you get on?

I stand with you on this. I did both school systems, and in a way, I prefer the little more regimental style than today, because as a teacher, I can tell you so many of the do and don'ts, it seemed easier then.
Nicely humorous. Wishing you a great week.
My best

Well chosen words and a great picture to share your memories of school days. I loved school when I was a child, enjoyed the time with friends and meeting new challenges together. School days have been hard on children the last two years - so many different changes due to Covid.

It's been a long time since I was in school but your sweet four line poem quickly brought it all back. Excellent picture that put it all on perspective.
Very nicely done.

That pretty much sums up a day in the life of a student! You did an excellent job with just those few syllables. I like the sound effects. Thanks for sharing!

In retrospect, it was pretty much that regimented. The fun for me was the time spent before classes began and the time after classes ended. I never gave much attention to school and schoolwork when class was not in session. I found other interests rather easily.

Yes, you are so right. My favorite time of day was BEFORE the bell rang. We played hopscotch, tetherball, jacks and double dutch jump rope. Does anyone play these games anymore, nomi338? Thanks for sharing your memories and taking time to read, review and rate this work. I appreciate you.
