Thank you! I believe it to be a Blessing from our creator, cuz left to us, we may have ended it many times, as love isn't always enough! But forgiveness is the key! Thank you my friend for the kind review!

Isn't that sentiment simply wonderful- fifty years of true love through good times and bad and being able to realise the value of such great love - thanks for sharing

Short and oh so sweet. True love does not last from unending days of sunshine, right? There are compromises and bumps along the way in every long relationship... Still, if you make it to fifty years, you've both done something right! A 5-7-5 of the heart. Smile.

Thank you Karenina! You are so sweet & I thank you so very much for your kind review! My husband and I will be married 48 yrs in May, but dated over 2 yrs prior to that. Lol, there were days that I was one of the skeptics.
However, the longer we're together, the more reality hits us that one day, one of our chairs will be empty in the evening. It terrorizes me, as I love him more everyday. So we never go to bed angry, as pride is no longer an option. Sorry for getting carried away. Thank you again!

Hey, you. (Not sure WHO you are but I will know when the contest is over!) If being together fifty years is not something to appropriately get carried away about, I don't' know what is!

Beautiful sentiment in your lovely 5-7-5 Romance poem. Fifty years is quite an accomplishment. Excellent artwork to complement your work.

I enjoyed reading.

Thank you for sharing your story. We have been married 27 years in June and while it is the second marriage for both of us, I know what you mean that one day one there will be an empty chair. Truly, pride is not an option. Loving each other is just the best thing and we continue to grow closer every day. So happy for the both of you.

Some speak of passion and lust in their poems. An enduring and loyal love of fifty year shows that romance has been kept alive for these two, a special bond between them that others were skeptical about.

Yes, and I hope for many more. Life is short, and somehow, we must view time, such as this, something to celebrate, for we all must leave this world, and how else than with something that gives joy for that length of time.
Bravo...a lovely depiction here.
Best wishes.

Hello :)
I enjoyed reading your poem which is in good 5/7/5 form. It is also beautifully presented. Nice alliteration in line one. So far, I have been with my husband for 23 years - It would be a blessing to reach 50 years! If your poem is biographical, I send you many congratulations :)
Good luck in the voting booth.
Best wishes, Debra

Lol, when I commented that some said it would never last; well sometimes that was me. However, the longer we're together, the more I dread the reality that one of us could be looking at an empty chair someday, so I never let my pride take over, and always forgive him, cuz we know us girls are always right!😉 And congrats to you on 23 yrs, as I was sure I just celebrated that year too! How time flies! Thanks again Deb!
