"New Moon to Full Moon" is a free-verse poem that captures the ideas and passions of a writer. Now in his seventies, he celebrates the songs and composers of his youth: Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles. In this music his chooses to represent, there was hope, there was criticism, there was energy, there was a fullness of humanity, there was passion. The speaker cannot find anything similar in "today's music," so much of which is techno bubble gum, made up of great wailing love songs that say nothing new or genuine. When corporations run the art world, we all ultimately lose. Hopefully the wedge of honesty will find its way into this welter of a world.

It's a nice attempt as Free Verse, having impressive phraseology, smooth flow throughout from the beginning to the end, and beautifully depicting its theme.
The 8th stanza is particularly noteworthy.

This is a great tribute to the songsters and poets of the seventies. It is well worth a five even if I'm going to suggest some changes. You missed In the Ghetto (was that Elvis or someone else)? Some of your verses have more than one sentence and the new one needs to start with a capital letter. ...shadows. My mind fogs over . . . (this works better as you have "as" twice in line.) . . . coming (a) was . . . I appreciate this poem, so you can ignore my suggestions because it's great as is. I'm just seeking a little bit more smoothe.

The imagery herein is brilliant. I can see each scene vividly. The why shouldn't we being birth near the same decade. Does the following read the way intended? "the Beatles were coming (a was) going to hold your hand,"
Also, "the whisper of the wind sighing" is well composed though I re-read it differently to have it rhyme (not necessarily needed) 'the whispering of the wind sigh.'

Your poignant free verse poem has a strong message: the old balladeers experienced pain themselves, so they understand pain. The newer artists' songs ring shallow. I want to add a working man's artist--Bruce Springsteen.
My father was young during the Great Depression, and he used to tell us kids the singers, actors, boxers, and other athletes were superior because they started out poor , and they were not only physically hungry, but they were emotionally 'hungry," as well.
When I read your poem, I took a pleasant trip down memory lane.
