Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Yes, it was a very typical conversation between siblings. LOL I raised four boys. One of them, my second one, Jeff, was my wild child. I can tell everything that didn't work as a parent, because I tried them all. LOL Anyway, when Jeff became a parent, he called, "Mom, what am I going to do with Arianna?" I laughed and said, "It couldn't happen to a better person." Arianna was just like her daddy. LOL Anyway, Arianna graduates from High School in May. She turned out to be a wonderful young lady and her daddy, is a great husband and father. He did grow up. LOL Good luck with the contest.

I thought this a most entertaining entry to the contest and hope it does well. I can remember thinking very much the same sometimes when I read "Mom said she hoped I would have kids one day, and they would turn out like me." Now she does have kids - and they are turning out like her! Adorable but maddening!

I had to have a real giggle at this, this is hilarious, it just goes to show human beings are particularly pragmatic, and humorously so. This is a brilliant post, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Haha, I could hear and see this conversation as I read,
Prettybluebirds. You did a great job. I like the image
and the use of bold font. I believe many will identify with this
'battle.'
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

This is very amusing. I love to see examples of how childrens' perception of language is skewed, compared to the older world. It shows the chasm that experience brings, but I'm still unsure as to which side of the gap shows truth. Well thought-out. Kate xx

Haha! Great ending! I love the subtext, how we slowly learn what the little girl is talking about and get some of the mom's perspective based on what the girl says. Very cute!

This is a really funny story. I can certainly imagine a mother saying all those things to her child with an extremely messy room. Children are logical and they take things at face value so the kid in the story might very will think all those thing. It was especially funny about praying the room would be clean.

That was a delight to read. I could just imagine the two kids just standing there talking. The sister's logic is great. I love the way she interprets the phrases every parent uses, yet doesn't understand them at all.

Very humorous ending that has been told so many times with so many children that one wouldn't think it could be funny but... you did it. Thanks for the smile.
