I worked with self injurious behavior children for a number of years. Symptoms arise from the environment as well as the people involved with the child. If this was a real situation, I would recommend restraint and then slowly introduce the child once again to the environment. But, be aware of mental or physical that's a child is experiencing. Good luck in the contest.

I've heard of that. A compulsive action when a person feels the need to punish himself even though he/she doesn't really want to, and it hurts.
And doctors don't know the reason?
A sad thing for both the child and the parent. Hopefully the child can be reasoned out of it.

Hi there,

This is very sad. I worked a lot with children who self-harmed. Sometimes it's very difficult to get professionals to listen and they frequently believe the parents are abusing the children.
