Emi!y Romano has about twenty mi!lion forms...give or gave a million. Each one is intriguing and fun to try! Your lighthearted theme matched well with this rhymed metered verse...

This is a wonderful poem.
-Technique in phrasing.
-Elevates chatter to secrets flying in the wind.

Hi Debra!
The ababab rhyme scheme you added to this tableau was a wonderful addition to your poetic interpretation of this delightful scene. It made me smile today. I am glad you decided to write one.
Great job!

Comment from Gloria ....
Superb publishing here. The photograph is vintage, and the colouring symbolic of the frivolous chatter.
This tableau form is great for getting across an idea with brevity.
Enjoyed this very much. :))

I always love a good bit of Ekphrastic poetry, Debra, and this was quite a fun read. Thank you for introducing me to the tableau. I think the format works well for you, and I'm quite pleased you incorporated rhyme, even though it wasn't strictly necessary. This elevated the poem even more in my eyes. Thank you for sharing! (PS - if you're not already a member of the picture this poetry club I recommend it for you. I think you would do quite well!)

This makes me think of Marilyn Monroe. I like the picture, it is so relaxing.
I enjoyed looking at the picture and reading your poem. Those girls look like they were deep in conversation as the wind kept them cool. Thank you for this wonderful post.

Hi Debra,
The wind is playing tricks with her dress. I can sense the gaiety with these long-time friends. I'm guessing they are good pals from long ago, catching up on all the news.
I like this form, the "Tableau". These women are totally absorbed with each other, unaware of anyone else at the beach. Excellent poem to accompany the description of the form.
Nice rhyming, ababab, "railing/prevailing/regaling" and "natter/chatter/ascatter".
I'm not familiar with "natter". My dictionary says, "long idle chat". I was actually surprised to find it.
Nicely penned!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Hello Kimbob :)
Thank you so much for your feedback and the generous stars - I'm very grateful! I really enjoyed writing this one - I only came across the form yesterday, it's a fun one to try :)
Perhaps 'natter' is a word common to England? I would use it as readily as 'chat'. For example, 'I'm just phoning my mum for a natter.'
Thanks again for stopping by with your lovely gifts!
Best wishes as always, Debra :) x

That's a good use of a tableau poem and you captured that picture well with two young girls enjoying chatting away with each other and good friends do.
