This was a wonderful story which captivated me from the first line. You are a marvelous storyteller. I like your style, the phraseology used and the attention to detail. I also like how you talk to your deceased husband.

I have one suggestion. You name a lot of names, but the reader doesn't know who they are. I suggest adding them to your author notes introducing each.

Example:. Jane Doe is my sister-in-law.

Becoming your father's caretaker was a brave decision. People who are dependent on others for care and to move around are usually difficult and capricious.

I adored the whole part with the cat. I am a cat person and did years of animal rescue. How he would use endearments when talking to the cat, and the next minute curse him and he would ring his neck (lol).

I am very poor on relatives. I lost my parents in 2007,.have no siblings, my closest relative is my cousin Michael. You are very blessed in having so many relatives.

To bring a flea-ridden kitten to your house was horrible and also selfish. Fleas spread very quickly especially if you have carpet. If she lives the house I recommend use a professional service.

It was wonderful reading your family saga, meeting all the people you described so colorfully, and I felt like I was a part of it.

You did an incredible job. Your story moved me deeply.

Thank so much for the delightful six-star review. I'm so glad you like this story. I'm an only child, so I had to create my own extended family which was mostly my husband's family. (He had four siblings) and the four children we produced together. The block for entering more of the story so I could introduce everyone doesn't allow you add more than a couple of sentences, so I put all the people in the story at the bottom and told a little about each. Thank again for the review.

Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

This is a well written piece and reads smoothly.
I may consider breaking up the longer paragraphs towards the end, maybe double space, just my preference.
I think the topic is important for all readers to either relate to your experience or teach compassion to those who have not.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.
