Clever suite of Joseph's Star poems which all fulfil all requirements. I like the play on words in the last line (more barbs, and their schoolmates referring to a school of fish). Well composed. best wishes.

Excellent entry for the Joseph's Star writing prompt contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines. Nice presentation.

Nice alliteration and imagery of fish and nature.

Good luck in the contest.

Poet. you executed this triple Joesph Star with perfect adherence to the contest rules. Your complete stanzas did make a perfect and clear sense and I wish you well in the booth.

Thanks for your review comments. I struggled to conform to the rules of each line being a complete statement, but persevered to finalise my entry. It is annoying to see a few entries have not done this. Surely it is obvious to the committee who assesses entries to check rules have been followed... if not, why not?

Yes, I found reading a few where I shook my head and wondered if the rules were of importance.

I got disqualified recently for writing a true story in a flash fiction prompt, so I am feeling rather aggrieved at this non-compliance by several in this prompt.

This Joseph's Star suite, River of Life, has the proper formatting and gives the readers a slice of the day at the river as fishe make fools of the anglers.

This wasn't as easy as we may have thought. I rarely participate in short pennings but for kicks I thought I'd give this a try. It puts untrained portions of the brain to the test, I confess.

I enjoyed the story in your poem of "the one that got away." You presented well the victory of the "agile" fish, as well as the chagrin of the one who was left to be ridiculed by schoolmates.

What a great story told in a series of Joseph's star poems! The fish got away and didn't become a bite. But the laughing "schoolmates" will be up to be taken next. Best wishes in the contest!

What a lovely poem and the clever notion of the feeding fish being fished for food. Very good and a most enjoyable read. Good luck in the competition.

Well done on this Joseph Star poem, good syllable count, and an interesting subject. Both the child and the fish are looking for lunch but both are disappointed. Nice picture to illustrate.

The food chain is in operation here with fish being the desired meal of the day and the fish have a lucky escape . . . . sometimes! You made me smile with this story inside a Joseph's star form, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
