Wow, what is she going to do when Miles returns/very exciting to think that a ghost can perform the duties of another passing person? I hope they find out how Mile's future wife died.

Good stuff here again (apologies, I'm catching up! lol). It's getting tricky for Argot keeping it straight.
The only thing I noted early on was a minor bit perspective changing. we're with Meg /Margot inside the carriage when the doors open but switch to Miles when he picks her up (enjoying her arms round his neck). Then next paragraph is straight back to her again.
It's not major but something to be wary of.
'Oh? And that sounds mysterious,' she said,- I think I'd be inclined to drop the 'And' here.

Thank you, Gareth, I have changed that sentence by taking that part right out. (arms around his neck part) I'll go and delete that 'And' now. :)) The next part I'll be posting shortly, will be interesting to see how many people read it. It's rather ... sexy! Well, Margot tries to act like she isn't interested when she

Bessie knows the outcomes and doesn't let on. She's letting
Margot 'learn' to handle her feelings on her own. I like how
you italicized Margot's thoughts. The lines with the rings
were great. I've hears of using a ring on either side of the
wedding ring. I love the fact the rings are from Miles' grand-
mother. Yes, Margot is deeply in love with Miles. I believe
something will happen before he returns for the night. I have
a suspicion Miles knows more than what we think he does
about the Meg/Margot merger. Of course, Bessie knows all,
but isn't telling.

I'd never heard of keeper rings before I was researching to see if they had engagement rings in 1886, that was really interesting. I'm glad you enjoyed that part, as well. This is very good character development and plotting. Margot is in a difficult place with divided needs. Hopefully Bessie can find the information they need. We know she can pick things up as a ghost, but can she get them out of a closed room?
