My only contact with Covid was when we visited our elder daughter in Brisbane, and my daughter's youngest boyJeremiah was performing as Gavroche in the musical "Les Miserable'" after only two performances he tested positive, (as did 35 members of the cast) so we had to isolate for seven days, he only had a mild temp, and a sore throat the first day, and no symptoms after, the rest of us tested negative the remainder of the week. Beautifully written Debi, well done, great rhyming, articulate narrative and flow, well done, blessings Roy

I thank you so much Roy! I hope you'll always feel comfortable giving me feedback, as your opinion is important to me! I really do appreciate your very kind review and I was happy with it too, except for the first line. When I read it now, it sounds like it's going to turn into Joyce's, I think that I shall never see, poem. Haha I love that one and have it memorized since childhood.

Yes, the scripture ?no pestilence shall come nigh thy dwelling? was prayed over our household 38 years ago, we?ve been attacked but never really been sick since, my daughter was an infant then, her family is protected, God is faithful. We were fortunate to have good teachers. Bless you Debi, Roy

Nice job on a difficult prompt. Having all sixteen lines rhyme was a good challenge, and you rose to it nicely. My family also escaped this virus. It took a little vaccination and some prayer.

Thank you so very much Paul, and anything new is out of our comfort zone, but we're never to old to learn something new. Thanks again Paul for the awesome review! You are so very kind.

The rhyme seems to add humor to your scary, sad story about the deadly covid. We need relief from it and the day to day problems that come with it. It truly does affect everyone differently. Thank God and stay safe.

Lol, I actually thought the same thing as I wasn't real comfortable with the first line, as it felt like it was going to break out into a Joyce poem, "I think that I shall never see, a poem as lovely as a tree." Haha, Thank you for the lovely review. You are very kind.

Thank you so very much Teri, as we all were so harshly affected, one way or another. I miss so many loved ones we lost, and missed the time that we lost with family. But on a positive note, my husband and I got to know each other better haha, and I never forget to be thankful for every moment spent with family and friends.
Thank you so very much for your kind and caring review.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with you. I agree, I hope we never have to go through anything like this again. I just wish our government would've been honest with us from the beginning.

Covid 19 took the lives of many, some of my friends, my neighbors' son. My sister almost died in Illinois. She had blood clots and had to stay in a nursing home. This is on the rise in Michigan. Thank you for the awareness. Stay safe.

Thank you Carolyn for your lovely review, and I too would like to say I'm sorry for your losses. Missing all the Holidays with my family that year was hard, but it gave me a constant reminder to be thankful for all of our blessings, and be with them as much as possible, while we can.
Thanks again for your very kind review and comments.

I understand. Your prayer is meaningful and heartfelt and one which is being echoed around the world. Millions of lives lost, and each one important and special to others. It's been a scourge for sure. I appreciate your notes as well, especially your thankfulness to those who have given so much to care for others. Best wishes for your entry in the Monorhyme contest.

Well it rhymes. Though the meter is forced and would benefit with some contracting.
"A humbled heart, on bended knee.
Hear our cries and desperate plea," - single/plural issue
Great sentiment. Good work overall.
Best wishes.

You described the horrible effects of Covid very well here. Love your artwork.
Covid struck the world like the World War II - with the number of victims even higher than that lost in the war.
I am happy that this virus spared your loved ones, though too many people lost theirs. One has to wear a mask all the time, even if they were vaccinated. The Covid variants now are deadlier and more scary than the virus itself.
Thank you for this poem. It was a good social commentary among other things.

This is a strong mono-rhyme poem about how much this virus has taken from us for a log time. We all pray for it to fade away soon
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Joan, you are so gracious! Those couple years of watching everything from videos or a FaceTime call, as the grandkids kept getting bigger and missing out on 2 years of their lives. Then we lost cousins, uncles, our beloved and good friends to this wicked virus, while praying that our own children and grandkids wouldn't be a statistic when they got it! And I know I speak for almost everyone, as I'm not alone w these feelings!
Your kind review and comments are so appreciated! Thanks for the smile!
