Hooray ! And you showed the "power of the pen of your poetry" and you were smart to use a sound that rhymes so abundantly! Great poem about writing this poetry contest entry! Congratulations on the win!!

Thanks for your congratulations. Choosing words with a prolific end-rhyme makes the task a little easier... it's hard enough to think of a topic!

My gosh, LisaMay! How did you ever come up with this? Delightful!! And, if I count correctly, twenty-three different "ee" sounds here. I love the way you describe exactly how I feel when I try to write a piece for a contest! Lovely and very well done! The clear winner.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I'm pleased this poem snuck out to a win... I did work hard at it to get all those rhymes.

A very well-written poem. I like the way you have used and applied many rhyme words throughout the poem. Congratulations, you placed first and that is a great win!

That was excellent and congratulations on a well earned win! It was clever and you used the same end rhyme perfectly. Not easy, especially the amount of stanzas you used to do it. Well done! :)) Sandra xx

I've read so much of your work that I recognized your style immediately, and checked your portfolio to be sure I was correct.

As always, your wonderful sense of humor shines through in this poem but, what I like best about it is that, with your monorhyme of choice, you didn't just settle for the simple rhymes (and there are many of them), but went for the multisyllabic words as well, which adds another layer of difficulty, and is very impressive. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for your praise. I've got to the stage with some writers I can recognise their style too... sometimes because it is tedious! (Never yours, I hasten to add.)

You're welcome, and I know what you mean about some writers being recognizable by their tediousness, others by their self-absorption (i.e., the ones who are so impressed with their ability to stylize that their writing is incomprehensible). I'm glad to hear my writing doesn't fit into the tedious group!

... or the self-absorbed and incomprehensible groups!

I graciously accept the kindness of your letters and words agglomerated into sentences and paragraphs to express your appreciation for my lack of incomprehensibility and self-absorption.

That's odd - there's some glitch going on - I know this is from you, Michele, but at the left it's got my name instead of incoming from you.

This monorhyme poem, Power to the Pen of Poetry, has the proper formatting and shows us all the drama and frenetic nature of the site we write on. Fun.

I agree with thy thesis. It would be hard, the longer the poem got but you found a way to compensate but rhyming cleverly in three verses. Outfoxed the originator, perhaps, or not. We'll see who comes out in victory. Not me, for see, I sat out this contest. I liked yours.

I enjoyed your matching rhymes and the metre started off perfectly and lost its way half way through this poem, however I thought the sentiment was simply sublime and I loved your tribute to poetry pens here, love Dolly x

You expressed well the thoughts of the poet. I like how you included the contest ones because, for sure, we all want to come out the winner for each one we enter. Yep, I have that vanity, too!

Thanks for your review, Verna. We all write for different reasons, but the unifying factor is that we want to be good/successful at what we do.
