The Perfect Yard Sale

I have never been to a yard sale , unfortunately, they are not a thing in my country.
On the other hand I live in a small country town that comes alive in Summer with the rich from Milano. On the outskirts there dozens of villas with huge gardens.
The beautiful items the owners discarded in front of the towns rubbish bins were wondrous.
About 10 years ago the rubbish bins were removed and collection became a daily event from door to door. And that was it.
It was so much fun , like being on a treasure hunt.
I found once a whole chess set caved in wood . All the pieces were there .. the main characters were about 2cm high.
I gave it to my friend who still collects chess sets.
Once with my father, we went to a collector. His whole property was covered with every sorts of objects.
We bought a beautiful lamp which had 4 rettangolare sides kept together by a decorative brass frame. The glass was honey hued.
We bought it for 20 euros , a real bargain.. it hangs in out front porch. ( biggrin)

It's shameful the things people throw out...perfectly good items that others can use. I once found a maj jong set, beautiful tiles, but didn't know what it was, because I never played. It was special though and I was thrilled. Thank you for your vote and for taking the time to read my poem....I appreciate it so much. :)

Yard sales are fun and very interesting. There are many bargains found at thrift sales. They always say that a person's junk is someone else's treasure. This is very true.

Who doesn't love the perfect yard sale? I really liked the poem which was playful and fun to read. The artwork was also playful as well as colorful. Best wishes for the contest.
