Your poem is excellent. It reads as a lament as we watch the decline of our country. I fully support your last stanza and I hope we do make a correction in the midterms. When I read it in the contest, I believed it was a winning post.

I agree wholeheartedly but Brandon somehow has locked up seniors and minorities, unions and educators. I feel a lemming following a piper to a precipice with crocs, mouths open-wide await an easy meal.

I listened to Biden today and I'm afraid he really does need to retire, he is slurring his words and he is incoherent and not up to the job, he is one step away from his death bed, which is a terrible thing to say, but unfortunately American has to think of the business of someone running the country and Biden is just not up to the job! Hopefully things will change for you guys and you will finally have a decent president at the helm, good luck, a fine poem, love Dolly x

Hello mystery poet, a fantastic Friday to you. I hope this finds you well. I don't play sides, I like to stay in the middle and while it may be hard to see eye to eye on the issues from a poetic stand point it was good the timing and rhymes were good. Have a good day and good luck in the contest.

You are a wise person to stay middle of the road. I don't write too much on political issues, but I'm upset of late on the direction our country is going. No doubt, I offend some people along the way, but I chance it once in awhile. Thank you so much for this great review. :)

I think it's a combination of venting and trying to bring awareness to those who may not understand the situation. I certainly don't want to offend anyone, although I undoubtedly do. I don't write a lot of political poetry, but sometimes I get upset by what is going on in a country I love. Thank you for reading my poem, I really do appreciate it. :)
